SUMMARY Sells products to general residential and commercial building contractors.

Reports To: Branch Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from the Branch, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Takes measurements from blueprints or at the construction site and sends a quote to the builder.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares purchase orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the Branch’s delivery schedules.
  • Keeps expense accounts
  • Coordinates and educates customer on services and products
  • Tracks sales data for current customers into computer database
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3 to 5 years experience in construction business
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Good interpersonal skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Works in the office and out in the field. Able to walk through construction sites, up and down ladders or scaffolds.

Insulation Installer

SUMMARYThis position entails stapling fiberglass or rock wool batts to exterior walls and ceilings before drywall, paneling or plaster walls are put in place.

Department: Branch location

Reports to: Branch Manager or Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Loads and logs materials onto truck and makes notation of returned materials
  • Erects scaffolding or ladders
  • Cuts the insulation materials to the size required
  • Attaches insulation materials by stapling, gluing, wiring or nailing
  • Operates equipment that injects loose fill or foamed insulation
  • Repairs and maintains existing insulation
  • Observes job site safety rules and knows the location of the MSDS packets in vehicle
  • Maintains tools and truck housekeeping
  • Follows all driving safety rules at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in the construction industry helpful
  • Ability to perform basic math skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Insulation workers must be able to use common hand tools—trowels, brushes, knives, scissors, saws, pliers, and stapling hammer. Insulation workers must be able to read job instructions and record materials to work order. They must be able to work in tight places or in high places from ladders or scaffolding. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must also be able to climb ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and bend, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist and knees to handle and install insulation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in a construction environment; ability to adapt to extreme temperature ranges is preferred.

Foam Insulation Installer

SUMMARYIn new construction or major renovations, foam insulation workers spray into exterior walls and attics before drywall, paneling, or plaster walls are put in place. Foam insulation workers generally work indoors and spend most of the workday on their feet, either standing, bending, or kneeling. Sometimes, they work from ladders or in tight spaces and often times they are in attics. Foam work is very dusty and dirty, and workers are required to wear protective gear for the mouth, N-95, and safety glasses. The summer heat and winter cold can make the insulation worker very uncomfortable. Temperatures range from 150 degrees Fahrenheit to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Loads and logs materials onto truck and makes notation of returned materials
  • Erects ladders and scaffolds
  • Checks netting/poly for areas that may need blocking, and prepares machine by checking oil, belts and obstructions
  • Operates equipment that injects foam insulation by carrying/holding a hose up to 150 feet long and weigh up to 56 lbs.
  • Climbs ladders and crawls in attics frequently throughout the day
  • Checks density in wall areas
  • Other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in the state employed
  • Observe all driving safety rules at all times
  • Observe job site safety rules and know the location of MSDS packets in your vehicle
  • Maintain tools
  • Maintain truck housekeeping

None
